Book Project

For this project I used sharpies and colored pencils on the tree/leaves, colored pencils on the humming bird, sharpies on the wild flowers, magazines on the lips, metallic markers on the mandala, paint and glitter on the snowflakes, sharpies on the cross, paw print, and wonderland, and I used acrylic paint and watercolor on the lighthouse.

Tile

This is my ceiling tile. It says Dream with two arrows at the bottom. We chose the word Dream because everyone has a dream and they need to know, that anything is possible if they try. The arrows represent that when life pulls you back, you can shoot forward and succeed in your dreams.

12 boxes

This is a picture of Blake Lively. She is one of my favorite actresses. For this project I used colored pencils, charcoal, paint, ink, sharpies, magazines, pencils, and pens.

Foreshortening

While Marcelle and I were waiting for our photographer to arrive and take our senior pictures, I captured this picture of her at the perfect timing while throwing the football at me.

Silhouette

This is a picture of my aunt's dog that I took while I was at her house for thanksgiving. It was an early in the morning sunrise of Black Friday when we were just getting home from shopping all night.

Traditional

Every Christmas it is tradition for my mom to make her special Christmas Candies. The most important peice are her homemade soft and chewy caramels, that everybody loves.

Initials

These are my initials I found unintentionally in some paintings. The letter K was splattered on a wall. And the letter C was painted in a mural.

A unique self portrait

For this self portrait I used a lot of shimmery eyeshadow all over my face to create a sort of mermaid look. I used purple to contour my face and used blues and greens for some cooler, ocean colors. My hair is in a braid known as a "fishtail", which I thought fit perfectly with my theme.

Eyes

This is a picture of my Aunt's (once stray) cat. His name is Gilbert. I hate cats but as soon as I saw him I fell in love with his big, bright blue eyes.

Unnatural Texture

This is a photo of a man made carvings. I thought it looked pretty neat so I took a picture of it and tried to get a different angle on in.

Landscape

This is a picture of a field that I took right out side of Mitchell, SD. I was on my way to Aberdeen coming from church camp this summer and a storm was just hitting. Here you can see the dark rain clouds moving in.

Veteran's Day

This is a silhouette of a hero. It has the man with goggles on his head and an airplane in the background. We traced it on white paper and cut it out while putting black paper behind it.

Quilling

This is a project where i shaped prices of paper and glued them down to make an image. This is a frog and I used three different shades of green to create his skin. I used white and black for the eyes and black for the nose and mouth. For the tounge I used a light shade of pink.

Green Photo

I found this photo while walking through Marcelle's backyard. With all the green grass and weeds around it, the baseball really popped out.

Different view photo

This is a picture that looks like Kiana is hanging off of a wall. We took it in the commons. She is laying down on the stage and I just flipped the picture.

Fridge Photo

This is a picture of my fridge. This is one of the sections on my side door. It has Wine, ketchup, ranch, ect. I took it from a downward angle so that you could see the tops of all the condiments in it.

Abstract Nature Photo

Here is a picture of an red leaf I found on the ground. I thought it was really cool, because it was the only bright leaf on the ground. I put my camera down on the ground and angled it a little upward to capture this photo.

Golden Photo

This is a picture of Golden leaves on a tree that has changed color. I focused my camera on the trunk of the tree, so the golden leaves blurred together to create a cool effect.

Food Cooking

This is a bird's eye veiw of chicken being cooked/prepared. I focused it in on the knife and piece of chicken being cut, rather than the closest peice of chicken.

Hobby photo

This is a picture of my friend Hanna. She really loves and enjoys baking and cooking. So for this asignment I decided to capture her making some soup during her favorite class, Foods.

Pet

This is a picture of a stray cat that starting hanging around my aunt's house. Since it wouldn't leave, they decided to adopt it and take it to the vet for shots. I really like this picture because I captured him while he was licking himself. I love the detail you can see on his tongue.

Oaxacan Animal

For this project I created a bear made out of paper mâché. I decided to do a large scale version of one, rather than a small one like most students did. For the legs, arms, and head I crumbled up newspaper and wrapped one full sheet around all the pieces to create the shape I wanted. For the belly, I blew up a balloon and paper mâchéd over top of it. The ears were a simple piece of card board that I bent and glued down. Since my bear was so large, I decided to paint it all one color, but give it detailed eyes  and a stomach. Also I added some marks to make it look like stitching.

Spray paint worlds

This is a spray paint project that is from the view of the trees on a planet. You can see the outer Galaxy with stars, shooting stars, and another planet. I used lime green, black, gold, yellow, and white spray paint.

Clay Face

Due to the fact that I had already done a clay face mug last year, this time I decided to create just a clay ceramic. I wanted to use more human like features rather than cartoon. I used a stone glaze to give it a rustic look.

Splatter Paint Silhouette

This is a Hawaiian Flower. I chose to use this for my silhouette because I love flowers and I like how big this one is. I used a toothbrush, my fingers, and water to splatter pink, yellow, and orange paint.

Jumping Drawing

This is a drawing of a picture of me on my birthday. I was at Lake Okoboji in Iowa. My friend Jenny captured this photo as I was jumping off of a dock.

Summer Picture

This is the first picture of my four seasons project. This was taken outside by the football field stands. I liked it because there were three different trees right next to each other.

Shutter Speed Light Photography

These two pictures were taken in a very dark classroom. The classroom didn't have any windows. I set the shutter speed to 10 seconds. Logan and Connor used a thick glow stick to trace each other and write things in the air. In order for the writing to show up correct, we had to write it in the air backwards.

Jumping

This is my best friend, Marcelle, jumping. She is jumping off of the class rock that is outside of the school. We didn't want her face in it, so she decided to jump off away from the camera.

Summer Vacation

I started my summer off by going on a mission trip to Rosebud, South Dakota. Every summer my church takes our youth out there, and this year was by far the best. Not only did I make new friendships with Brandon Valley's youth, I also strengthened my relationships the the residence of Rosebud. Everyday I had a new job, from painting to shingling to cutting fire wood, and even getting lost and stranded with no cell phone to call for help. You could say that was quite the experience. I also was a camp counselor at Minneboji Bible Camp for a week in Okoboji, Iowa. I had 25 energetic, little girls in a cabin, who always had to be reminded to shower, drink lots of water, and to not spend all their money on sugar! Also this summer, Ben, Logan O, Jayden, Landon, Phillip, Austin, Hanna, Demi, and I went on a camping trip in Watertown. It was a great weekend for us to get together and bond before senior year! We did a lot of swimming, playing football and Frisbee, and cooking over the fire. I had an amazing weekend with them all, even though we woke up to a cold, windy thunderstorm and leaking tent!

Portrait of a Stranger

This little boy came up to me at a graduation party last weekend. He wouldnt stay still long enough, so this was the best picture I could get with his cute freckles and no teeth!

Framing with Objects

I thought this road was really cool because the trees framed it perfectly and made a tunnel
